It may be post-Christmas but it looks like the wintry weather hasn’t gone away just yet.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for snow and ice. The warning will effect counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. It’s in place until midday on Saturday with falls of hail, sleet and snow predicted. There’s also the possibility of hazardous driving conditions in parts.
Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has also issued a similar warning for counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry. That snow and ice warning is valid from 4pm today until 10:30am on Saturday.

Posted at 8.26am. Two inches of snow on some higher routes with slush and rain on the lower routes. All treated accordingly. No overnight issues.
Ross and Cromarty East Posted at 8.20am. Three inches of wet snow on some routes. Some cars stuck at North Kessock first thing, traffic moving okay now. All routes being treated. A combination of rain, sleet and snowmelt will likely cause some minor flooding issues throughout the day. No serious overnight issues.

SEVERE FLOOD WARNINGS remain in place in the UK after hundreds of residents were told to leave their homes overnight because of adverse weather caused by Storm Christoph.
Homes were flooded following heavy rainfall and snow showers in Cheshire, with roads disrupted and residents in the county warned that river levels were still rising today.
