Dept has completed a brand refresh for London Marathon Events (LME), the organisation behind the London Marathon and 12 other mass participation events.
It turned to the Manchester division of Dept to lead on the brand refresh and develop a centralised solution for managing its portfolio of websites.
The first phase of the project centred on the London Marathon.
“We appointed Dept for their ability to combine creativity and technology,” explained Jason Ochoa, Head of Digital at LME.
“The agency’s understanding of our organisation and our values means our new website and branding truly reflect the hundreds of thousands of people we inspire to get active every year. Our teams have enjoyed collaborating with Dept on both the creative and technical aspects of the project and look forward to continuing our work together.”
KellGlass has just installed its first Glaston RC Series furnace last month.
The company, located just north of Dublin, plans to use the furnace to add value for its customers in both the double-glazed glass and processing market.
Patrick Kelly, owner and founder of KellGlass Limited, began thinking about purchasing a new tempering furnace about four years ago. He had run his existing plant for the last 16 years, technology had moved on, age was catching up – and a new furnace was needed.
“We first looked at various makes of furnaces. I have known Glaston, earlier Tamglass, over the years. The company has a really good name,” Kelly says. “They are certainly at the upper end of the market. But when making an investment on that scale, we knew we wanted the best.”

Network Rail chief given extra term
Sir Peter Hendy has been reappointed as chair of Network Rail for another two-year term. Transport secretary Grant Shapps announced the reappointment, with the latest two-year term due to start on 16 July. Hendy has served on the board of Network Rail since 2015. He’s also served as chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation since July 2017.

Manchester-based research company The Insights People has rebranded as The Insights Family as it brings in Simon White (pictured, right) as Chairman.
Following rapid growth, the market insights leader has been renamed to reflect its recent success as well as coinciding with the relaunch of The Insights Family s data portal.
Simon White will sit on the board for The Insights Family, having previously been Momentum Worldwide s Senior VP and UK Managing Director, as well as having held senior positions at the FIFA World Cup, Microsoft, AEG, Olympic Games and Unilever.
