Queen’s Gambit Academy Launches In Malta For Girls Who Wants To Up Their Chess Game

An online chess academy for girls has been launched in Malta, following the hype of Netflix’s smash hit series The Queen’s Gambit.
The Queen’s Gambit Academy was founded by UK-born chess master Charlie Storey, who moved to the islands in search of sunnier places amid the pandemic.
Storey, who has won over 160 chess tournaments and coached last year’s British under 16 chess champion, saw a skint scene of chess in Malta and decided to settle here and set up academies and opportunities for chess players.
ANKARA: Controversy surrounding an official’s alleged racism during a Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir has not only fueled the simmering row between Ankara and Paris but also stirred debate in Turkey about the country’s own sporting culture.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has close ties with the owners of the Basaksehir club, said after the match: “This incident is the result of recent racist discourse in France. France has regrettably become a hotspot for racism.”
During the game on Tuesday, Basaksehir’s assistant coach, Pierre Webo, was shown a red card for protesting against a refereeing decision. A Romanian fourth official then allegedly pointed to the Cameroonian and used a racist description.

To mark the highly anticipated release of Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino in the US, the spirit-maker’s new, ultra-refined Cristalino tequila, Artnet is teaming up with the brand to honor the Pocoapoco artists’ residency in the south of Mexico and to celebrate the rich connections between tradition, innovation, and a spirit of intelligent elegance.
It appears like a dream.
Embedded in the Mexican landscape, framed by mountains in the middle distance, the house that hosts the Pocoapoco artists’ residency is set also amid a bustling city dotted with brightly painted houses. Against the backdrop of buildings adorned in lush, uniform colors green, red, white the Pocoapoco house stands out sharply and handsomely, painted in vibrant blue.
