Vietnam s seafood industry expected to grow in 2021

Vietnam 05 Apr 2021 HO CHI MINH CITY (Vietnam News/ANN): Despite facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic, seafood exports last year were estimated at US$8.58 billion, the same as in 2019. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Producers and Exporters expects them to increase by 10 per cent to $9.4 billion this year aided by many positive factors. Trương Đình Hòe, its general secretary, talks to Vietnam News reporter Xuân Hương about this and efforts made by the industry to enhance its competitiveness and grow. Q.What do you think about the seafood industry’s export prospects this year? A. The seafood industry has set a growth target of 10 per cent in exports this year or US$9.4 billion. And there are factors that give us confidence.
