LONDON (Reuters) - Britain is not planning to postpone the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference, known as COP26, a government spokesperson said on Wednesday, responding to a Sky News report that the summit could be cancelled or radically changed.
The November summit in Glasgow, Scotland, was originally due to be held in 2020, but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
“We are not looking to postpone the summit,” the spokesperson said. “We are working on the basis of COP26 being held in person this November, while closely monitoring the COVID situation.”
WINCHESTER University’s vice-chancellor has signed an open letter to the Prime Minister calling for stronger leadership in the face of catastrophic climate change and growing ecological collapse. Professor Joy Carter CBE DL has backed the letter from Scientists Warning Europe (SWE) which endorses the letter from former Nasa scientist, James Hansen, which also called on Boris Johnson to step up and lead the world in solving the climate crisis. SWE calls for Mr Johnson to table a much earlier net zero target of 2030 rather than 2050, highlighting the substantial support for such a target by the many UK local councils in their declarations of Climate Emergency.

The digital space will gain even more investment and become even more crowded.
