BRETT: We were talking yesterday about aliens and we’re gonna talk axial more about aliens right now, not illegal aliens but actual space aliens. “Former President Obama says that UFO sightings appear to be real,” right? We know that. He says, “We don’t know exactly what they are, but the UFO sightings appear to be real.” That’s going out on a big, huge leap there from President Obama.
The UFO-sightings story has gotten real legs in the last number of weeks. Even the venerable 60 Minutes sought doing their report about, you know, a short time ago the story would have been laughed out of the newsroom. Now they’re grazing that. Why now? Are they priming us for an announcement that we’ve made contact?

Globally, 2020 was the second hottest year on record, adding another grim milestone to a rapidly warming planet. In Europe, according to data released by the Copernicus Climate Change Service, 2020 was the warmest year on the continent. Ocean acidification, desertification, collapsing biodiversity, disappearing habitats, intensifying storms, droughts and heatwaves - the changing climate is already manifesting its impacts.
As we strive to limit temperature growth to 1.5°C above preindustrial levels, in 2016 & 2020, the global mean temperature was already 1.2°C higher than this baseline.
To tackle the climate crisis, we must re-think and restructure the global economy and society, harness all available assets and include science, technology and innovation in our decisions and policymaking.

Scientists are working to develop methods to prevent asteroids from wreaking havoc on Earth. “We know that currently, the U.S. has many knowledge and capability gaps for planetary defense readiness,” says one expert.. “The work we are doing today, and the opportunity to discuss that work with the broader international community at venues like the IAA Planetary Defense Conference (PDC), is helping to close these gaps.”
