BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) China s prestigious Tsinghua University has provided a select group of foreign universities with access to 17 educational courses using platforms for massive open online course (MOOC) technology.
Starting in the spring semester, the online courses are accessible to St. Petersburg University, Singapore s Nanyang Technological University and the Polytechnic University of Milan, all of which are founding members of the Global MOOC Alliance, which was launched last year.
Students in these institutions abroad will be able to study alongside their China-based counterparts at Tsinghua, with classes available in a wide range of fields, including computer science, economics, humanities, architecture, civil engineering, electronic engineering and languages.
