Guwahati, Dec 10 () The second and final phase of polling for the 40-member Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) is underway on Thursday with election officials and a section of voters adhering to COVID-19 protocols. Till 11.30 am, 29.44 per cent votes were cast out of a total of 10,23,404 electors, who will seal the fate of 111 candidates for 19 constituencies spread across Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.

GUWAHATI: Over 10 lakh voters will give mandate to 111 candidates in the last and final phase of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) council polls on Thursday.
The fate of former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and former deputy chief Khampa Borgoyary (both from the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), along with several top Bodo leaders, will be decided in the second phase of elections. Polling will start at 7:30 am in the morning and conclude at 4:30 pm.
Hagrama, under whose leadership the BPF has ruled the BTC for three consecutive terms since 2005, is contesting from Debargaon and Kachugaon council constituencies.
