INDIANAPOLIS The honors continued to roll in for Colorado freshman
Frida Formann on Tuesday. She added to her collection with the announcement of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association s Tamika Catchings Women s Freshman of the Week, a day after being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.
It is the first time a Colorado women s basketball player has earned the honor.
McKinley Wright IV earned a National Freshman of the Week award during his rookie season in 2017-18.
Formann, bounced back over the weekend after a 0-for-5 shooting performance to start the week at Southern California. The freshman guard from Bagsværd, Denmark, went 7-for-8 from the field in Colorado s win over Cal, setting a season-high with 19 points. She shot 5-for-6 from behind the arc and snagged a season-best seven rebounds. Formann totaled 15 points against Stanford. QUICK JUMPERS North Dakota has played its best defense in the last two games, holding North Dakota State to 61 points and Toledo to 64 in regulation. The Fighting Hawks held the Bison to 0-of-16 from the field in the first quarter, a feat last accomplished before the 2006-07 season. UND is 2-0 in Summit League openers and 4-0 in its first two League games since joining The Summit League. Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between UND and Kansas City. With its forward heavy starting lineup the last two games, UND is averaging 44.5 rebounds per game. The Fighting Hawks were +11 on the boards against the Rockets, their best margin since going +13 at Montana State.
FGCU women postpone games against North Alabama, Liberty

The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball team’s games at North Alabama on Jan. 2 and 3, and against Liberty on Jan. 9 and 10, have been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Because of the 14-day quarantine period, the postponement includes FGCU’s Jan. 10 ESPNU game against Liberty. No rescheduled dates have been announced at this time.
The official ASUN opener for the Eagles will now be Jan. 16 and 17 at Bellarmine University, followed by the home opener against Lipscomb Jan. 23 and 24.
The women’s postponement follows the men’s, who announced Wednesday that their games against North Alabama and Liberty would also be postponed due to COVID-19. New dates for those games have not been set.
ACC Announces Game Time/TV Designation
CLEMSON, SC – The ACC announced today a game time and TV designation change to Clemson’s January 3 game at Miami. The two teams will now face off on the ACC Network at 12:00 p.m.
The Tigers, now receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, last played on December 20, downing Notre Dame 78-55 and finishing the 2020 portion of the schedule at 8-1 (2-1 ACC). TIME/TV UPDATE
