For more than 30 years, politicians have talked about immigration reform and we’ve done nothing about it. It’s time to fix it. On Day 1 of my presidency, I kept my commitment and sent a comprehensive immigration bill to the United States Congress.
If you believe we need a secure border, pass it, because it has a lot of money for high-tech border security. If you believe in a pathway to citizenship, pass it. There’s over 11 million undocumented folks, the vast majority here overstayed visas. Pass it. We can actually if you actually want to solve the problem, I have sent a bill to you, take a close look at it.

Replay Video UP NEXT President Joe Biden delivered his first speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, just one day prior to 100 days in office. The setting was very different from a typical address, though. Due to the pandemic, tickets were limited and social distancing rules were in place. But the message from Biden was one of progress and a return to normalcy from more than a year under limitations.

Biden was addressing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the first and only woman to hold that position – twice – and Vice President Kamala Harris, the first woman to hold that position. Both were sitting behind him, the first time two women have sat behind a President for a joint address toCongress. (Much less two women from California.)

Of the nine Supreme Court justices, only Chief Justice John Roberts attended. Lots of Democrats would like to expand the size of the Supreme Court, although that’s not something Biden mentioned Wednesday night.
