Pocatello seeking public input on Cusick Creek, City Creek grant applications Updated at Share This EastIdahoNews.com file photo POCATELLO The city of Pocatello has requested public feedback on a pair of grant applications submitted through the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. The grant money, if rewarded, would go to improvements to the Cusick Creek trailhead and re-grading of City Creek Road. “We’re excited by the opportunity to work with the Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, and the Idaho Department of Lands on these projects to not only enlarge the popular Cusick Creek Trailhead, but also to fix one of our biggest sources of sediment into City Creek – the road to Kinport Peak,” city spokeswoman Hannah Sanger said in a news release. “This is a win-win for water quality and user experience.”

(WBTV) - The Salisbury-based Three Rivers Land Trust (TRLT) has announced the conservation of a 27-acre property located in Montgomery County. The landowners, Dennis and Marcia Shaw, placed a permanent conservation easement on their property in December of 2020. This working-lands conservation easement allows for continued agricultural and forestry practices, while restricting the future development and subdivision of this important parcel.

Avon s Wildridge area will see slash pile burning Jan 27, 28

Special to the Daily The Eagle Valley Wildand Team, consisting of members from Greater Eagle Fire Protection District and Eagle River Fire Protection District, in cooperation with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, United States Forest Service, Eagle County and the Town of Avon will be burning slash piles in the Wildridge Neighborhood. Burning operations will occur as weather and snow conditions permit, and are tentatively scheduled for Jan. 27 and 28, 2021. Due to the number of piles, burning operations could take several days. Burning will only be conducted under specific guidelines established by the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, including having adequate snow cover on the ground and acceptable weather forecasts that meet guidelines for safe and effective burning and adequate smoke dispersal.
