THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES on Thursday [May 20 2021]
approved an expanded budget for the U.S. Capitol Police in a supplemental piece of legislation that passed by a single vote.
Democratic Reps. Cori Bush of Missouri, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts voted to take the measure down, but Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman of New York, along with Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, voted present.
“I am tired of the fact that any time where there is a failure in our system of policing, the first response is for us to give them more money, rather than investigate the failings and hold those responsible accountable,” Omar told The Intercept, explaining her vote. “I’ll continue to fight for structural change that actually centers people’s safety and humanity. That applies to us here in the Capitol, as well as my constituents in Minneapolis.”
Bugzie, whose real name is Antionne DeShaun Brodnax, picked the photo which includes Donald Trump supporters storming the building in the background for his March album, appropriately titled
The Capital. Still, Brodnax says that after being photographed multiple times inside the building, he entered the Capitol only to shoot photos and video, as he came to DC to work on a music video, according to court documents obtained by the

Federal investigators arrested the rapper on March 11, just days after he dropped his record, and he’s currently facing four federal charges, including unlawful entry and disorderly conduct.
The court document claims that he “willfully and knowingly engaged in disorderly and disruptive conduct within the United States Capitol Grounds and in any of the Capitol Buildings with the intent to impede, disrupt, and disturb the orderly conduct of a session of Congress and either House of Congress, and the orderly conduct in that building of a he

In light of the Capitol siege that took place on January 6th, 2021 and the expected riots during inauguration week, the law on weapons near the Capitol building must be enforced.
Many of the rioters who breached the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th were in possession of firearms and explosives. In their letter, the Members cited instances of violent rhetoric by far-right extremists in online networks that encourage the use of weapons for riots in Washington, D.C and specifically encourage individuals to shoot politicians. In addition, fliers titled ARMED MARCH ON CAPITOL HILL & ALL STATE CAPITOLS have been c
