(KOKH) An Edmond man was sentenced to seven counts of illegal activities and violating national park regulations at Yellowstone National Park.  Theodore Garland, 60, has a social media page, podcast, and guidebook on Yellowstone, where he posts about his guided tours which violated closures and other park regulations and encouraged visitors of the park to do the same.  Examples of illegal activities include providing unauthorized guided tours, trespassing on thermal grounds, violating swimming closures and cliff jumping, and disturbing wildlife.

Garland appeared in front of Magistrate Judge Mark Carman in Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyoming, on July 2, 2021, for the sentencing. Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Murray said in a news release on Monday that Garland, 60 years old, has a social-media page, a podcast, and a guidebook. All three have overlapping pictures and posts about his guided tours in YNP, which violated closures and other park regulations and encouraged visitors to do the same. Some of the examples included providing unauthorized guided tours; trespassing on thermal grounds; violating swimming closures and cliff jumping; creating “hot pots in rivers;” and disturbing wildlife.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - Acting United States Attorney Bob Murray announced that 60-year-old Theordore Eugene Garland, of Edmond, Oklahoma was sentenced on seven counts of illegal activities and violations in Yellowstone National Park (YNP). Garland appeared in front of Magistrate Judge Mark L. Carman in Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming on July 2 for the sentencing. He was charged with 15 counts of illegal activities and violating national park regulations. After hearing the evidence at a bench trial held on April 7 and 8, Judge Carman found Garland guilty on seven counts. According to a release, Garland has a social-media page, podcast and a guidebook. All three have overlapping pictures and posts about his guided tours in YNP, which violated closures and other park regulations and encouraged visitors to do the same.

FBI arrests Palm Springs man following service of federal search warrant A Palm Springs man was arrested and charged Monday morning as part of an FBI investigation into weapon and drug distribution. Multiple police agencies, including the FBI, were outside of a home on Deepak Road in Palm Springs Monday morning. Neighbors said authorities have been at the home since at least 6 a.m. Neighbors told News Channel 3 s Madison Weil at the scene that they woke up to the sound of multiple flash bangs with law enforcement demanding someone exit the home. “I was kind of startled. I went to look out and didn’t see anything. But it seemed close, one resident said. This is the first time I’ve ever seen activity here in the 20 plus years I’ve been here.”
