(KOKH) An Edmond man was sentenced to seven counts of illegal activities and violating national park regulations at Yellowstone National Park.  Theodore Garland, 60, has a social media page, a podcast, and a guidebook on Yellowstone (YNP) where he posts about his guided tours, which violated closures and other park regulations and encouraged visitors of the park to do the same.  Examples of illegal activities include providing unauthorized guided tours, trespassing on thermal grounds, violating swimming closures and cliff jumping, and disturbing wildlife.

POCATELLO – Montey Curtis Moon, 46, of Fort Hall, pleaded guilty Monday to failure to register as a sex offender, Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael M. Gonzalez, Jr., announced in a news release. Moon was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pocatello on February 10. Sentencing is set for October 12 before U.S. District Judge David C. Nye at the federal courthouse in Pocatello. According to court records, Moon admitted that he was convicted of rape in Bannock County in 1996. As a result of his conviction, he was required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
