A Coquitlam man has been sentenced to three years in jail and handed a 10-year prohibition on owning firearms after acting as a "straw purchaser," according to the police unit tasked with investigating gang activity in B.C.

A vehicle riddled with bullet holes containing drugs, cash and other items believed to be associated with trafficking drugs was seized in Surrey by officers from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit on Monday night.
In a statement, Sgt. Brenda Winpenny, spokeswoman for the unit, said officers were patrolling in the 104th Avenue and Whalley Boulevard area when they spotted a vehicle with several bullet holes on the driver’s side.
