EOC adds badminton to European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 01/19/21
The European Olympic Committees (EOC) is pleased to announce that badminton is the latest sport to be added to the programme of the European Games Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska 2023.
An agreement was reached today between the EOC and Badminton Europe at the House of Sport in Copenhagen, with EOC Acting President Niels Nygaard and Badminton Europe General Secretary Brian Agerbak putting ink to the contract.
Badminton joins a growing number of sports on the programme for Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska, after beach handball, canoe, karate, modern pentathlon and taekwondo were all confirmed in December. Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska will be the third straight edition of the European Games for badminton, following successful appearances at Baku 2015 and Minsk 2019.

The FIVB has today revealed the volleyball calendar 2021-2024 which outlines the FIVB s volleyball events for the next Olympic cycle leading up to the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The calendar, based on the principles set out by the FIVB Board of Administration (BoA) in December 2019, outlines the official volleyball events in 2021-2024. The official events, as defined by the BoA, are the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the 2022 World Championships, the annual Volleyball Nations League, the Continental Championships of 2021 and 2023, and their direct qualifying events. The calendar also includes the annual club season including national, continental and international competition.

Following the announcement last week of the first three sports to be officially confirmed as part of the European Games Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska 2023, the European Olympic Committees (EOC) has now confirmed the next two sports to join the programme.
Karate, which will feature for the first time at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year, will return for the third consecutive European Games in 2023 showing how important Europe’s premier continental multi-sport event is for the sport.

IOC President Thomas Bach announced on Monday the program and athlete quotas. Skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing and breaking, the additional sports proposed by the Paris organizers, were confirmed as additional sports.
