KISSIMMEE A Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent based out of Tampa is likely to leave the hospital after getting shot during a shooting between law enforcement officers and suspects in a drug investigation spanning several agencies.
According to a statement, agents from the Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center were assisting agents in the Orlando area around 3 Tuesday afternoon, following suspects in an unmarked vehicle on Hoagland Boulevard, when it is believed, the suspects began shooting at the agents. They returned fire.
The suspect was shot and as of Tuesday evening was in critical condition at Osceola Regional Medical Center.
