COVID-19: Oman s Civil Aviation Authority clarifies quarantine rules taking effect from tomorrow

Muscat: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has issued a circular to all travellers and airlines regarding the mandatory institutional quarantine for non-Omani arrivals to the Sultanate. CAA emphasized that all non-Omani travellers coming to Oman must undergo a 7-day mandatory institutional quarantine, without which they will not be allowed boarding the flight. This quarantine applies to all non-Omani arrivals to the Sultanate, including families with children under the age of eighteen, effective as of 6 pm May 11. Omani citizens and families however are exempt from this mandatory institutional quarantine and are required to undergo a 7-day home quarantine. Health workers Diplomats, health workers and their families, airline crew are among those categories exempt from this quarantine rules. Those exempted will however be subject to the procedures adopted upon entering the Sultanate as part of the precautionary measures put forth by Oman’s Supreme Committee.

COVID-19: Oman Airports publishes new rules for arrivals to control spread of virus

Muscat: Oman Airports has listed in its website the strict measures that have been put in place currently including restricting entry to the Sultanate to Omanis and residents only, whose visas were issued on or before April 5, 2021. The measures were being put in place to limit the spread of mutated strains of the Coronavirus, by Oman’s Supreme Committee. Suspension of entry into the Sultanate until further notice has also been extended for those coming from Sudan, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. 14 days Entry is also not permitted for those coming from any other country if they had passed through any of these countries during the 14 days preceding the request to enter Oman. Per a decision those coming from the Egypt and Philippine are also not allowed to enter Oman. This ban will start from 9am, May 7, 2021, until further notice, exempting only Omani citizens, diplomats

Civil Aviation Authority issues clarification on flights between Oman and India

Muscat: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA Oman) issued a clarification recently saying that very limited flights between the Sultanate and India are operating to facilitate the return of Omani citizens in addition to shipping the necessary supplies to the Sultanate. The flights also are engaged to transport Indian citizens wishing to return to their country, as the operating flights between the countries are subject to health requirements before travel and upon arrival, the statement read. The CAA Oman in the clarification stated that the Indian Airlines flight (Air India Express) that arrived at Salalah Airport on Thursday coming from Kochi, had only three passengers on board, who were medical staff expected to arrive from India. The flight left Salalah airport an hour after its arrival with 100 passengers from the Indian community.
