CARLSBAD  Police were investigating a bomb threat Monday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa prompted by a suspicious call to the hotel. The investigation into the threat began around 2:20 p.m. at the hotel and resort on Costa Del Mar Road east of El Camino Real, according to Carlsbad police Lt. Jason Jackowski. “Using an abundance of caution and the prescribed protocol, we are investigating a bomb threat based on a suspicious phone call,” Police Department officials tweeted about 4:15 p.m. Helping us with this incident due to the size of the resort are @CHP Oceanside K9 Unit, @USMC K9 Unit, @CBDfirefighters@SDSheriff and resort security and management.
