Oregon has reported 1,059 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 119,488.
There were 44 more deaths reported Tuesday, the Oregon Health Authority reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,550.
Marion County reported 99 new cases. Polk County reported 28.
Other counties with large numbers of new cases include Multnomah, with 163, Clackamas, with 139, and Washington, with 100.
There were 494 COVID-19 patients hospitalized Tuesday, 17 more than on Monday. Of those, 107 were in intensive care.
New deaths reported included
An 87-year-old man in Tillamook County who tested positive on Dec. 28 and died on Jan. 1 at his residence. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) COVID-19 has claimed 44 more lives in Oregon, including four men in Central Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 1,550, the Oregon Health Authority reported Tuesday.
Tuesday s list of deaths included two men in Deschutes County, ages 83 and 87, and two in Jefferson County, ages 76 and 84. Three of them died at St. Charles-Bend, two on New Year s Day, and had underlying conditions, OHA said.
The location of the one Deschutes County man s death and presence of underlying conditions were being confirmed.

Oregon Health Authority Director Patrick Allenand Dr. Dana Hargunani, OHA’s chief medical officer, held a media briefing today to discuss the steps OHA is taking to scale up Oregon’s vaccine program and achieve Governor Brown’s goal of 12,000 COVID-19 vaccinations per day within the next two weeks.
Oregon’s pace of COVID-19 vaccinations is on par with other states, with more than 1.2 percent of the population having been vaccinated as of yesterday.
