Human remains identified after 42 years as Portland man KATU Staff © Provided by KATU Portland After more than 40 years of questions, a set of human remains now has an identity, the Oregon State Police announced on Wednesday.  The unidentified has been identified, authorities said in a Facebook post that detailed the cold case.  The skeletal remains of a man that were first discovered by hikers at the bottom of Multnomah Falls in September of 1979 have now been identified as that of Freeman Asher Jr.  Police say the relatives of Asher have been notified of the discovery and they are working on releasing his remains to their care.

Vancouver teen arrested in connection to Oregon I-5 rest stop death KATU Staff UP NEXT A 16-year-old Vancouver boy has been arrested, accused of murder after another Washington teen was found dead in his car at an Interstate-5 rest stop earlier this week, Oregon State Police said Sunday.  State authorities started investigating after a 16-year-old boy was found dead in a parked car in Clackamas County on Tuesday at the time, OSP described his death as suspicious. The victim s identity has not been released, though authorities did confirm he was a teen from Washington state.  In a Sunday update from authorities, the Oregon State Medical Examiner s Office determined the Washington teen died from a gunshot wound.

Remains of 31-Year-Old Humboldt County Woman Found in Rural Oregon

Press release from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office: On January 18th, shortly before 9:00 a.m., a Yamhill County citizen located a suspicious object near the entrance to Stuart Grenfell Park, which is located at the intersection of Highway 18 and Harmony Road in rural Sheridan. The property owner promptly called law enforcement. Yamhill County Deputies arrived on scene and began an investigation, eventually requesting response from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU).  SIU members identified the contents as human remains. The remains were removed from the scene and transported to the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Victims in SE Portland double homicide identified KATU Staff © Provided by KATU Portland Portland authorities have identified the two men who were killed in the Centennial neighborhood last weekend. The victims were 31-year-old Frank Gouland and 28-year-old Adam Kekoa Adams. Their families have been notified of their deaths.  Oregon State Medical Examiner s Office confirmed that both men died from gunshot wounds from a shooting on SE Division Street Sunday, Jan. 17.  The investigation into their deaths continues. Homicide detectives are asking for anyone with information on the shooting to come forward and talk to the police.
