PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Oregon State Police released an approximate sketch Monday of a young girl whose remains were discovered last month along the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor in rural Lincoln County.
OSP troopers said last Tuesday that detectives are seeking the public’s help identifying the child, who police believe was between the ages of 6 1/2 and 10.
The sketch was provided with assistance of the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office.
Her remains were found Dec. 10 in the area of the scenic rest stop along the heavily wooded corridor, which winds through Oregon 18 from northwestern Polk County to Lincoln City.

Police are appealing for help to identify a young girl whose remains were unearthed in woodland in Oregon.
The remains of the child, who is believed to have been between 6.5 and 10 years old when she died, were found near a rest stop in a heavily wooded area in Lincoln County.
The discover was made off the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor a state park which travels along Highway 18 from Polk County to Lincoln City.
After the discovery was announced on Tuesday, officials confirmed to KPTV that the remains were found near the Van Duzer rest area.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office said Jaron Weeks died from gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide. The second person injured is recovering.

OTIS, Ore. Oregon State Police detectives are asking for help identifying the remains of a girl found in rural Lincoln County in December.
Detectives said the remains were found on Dec. 10 in the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor off of Highway 18, near Otis.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office estimated the girl was between 6.5 and 10 years old. She was approximately 4-foot-2, and had long, dark hair. Her race or ethnic origin was not yet determined.

On December 10, 2020, Investigators were summoned to the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor for a death investigation. At this location, investigators found the remains of a female child.Â
The Oregon State Medical Examinerâs Office estimate the deceasedâs age to be 6.5 to 10 years old. She is approximately 3â10â to 4â6â tall, and had long hair that is dark brown or black. Her race or ethnic origin has yet to be determined, but DNA analysis is not complete.Â
