CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – For the first time in 773 days, the Ohio Valley Conference baseball tournament was back in action when No. 4-seeded Austin Peay faced No. 1-seeded Southeast Missouri State Thursday at The Ballpark at Jackson.
Both teams’ offenses slugged it out to the tune of five total home runs, but it was the OVC regular-season champion Redhawks who came out on top, 11-8.

Snoop Dogg s trip to Jackson is not happening

The latest announcement from the Jackson Generals is not one local rap and hip hop fans wanted to hear.
Snoop Dogg is not coming to Jackson in 2021.
The legendary musical artist was first slated to come to The Ballpark at Jackson in 2020, but COVID-19 pandemic protocols forced him to reschedule, which was planned for this year.
The Generals posted a statement on social media Tuesday morning: “We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Snoop Dogg will not be performing at the ballpark in 2021. All tickets to the show will be refunded. Please allow two weeks for refunds to process. If you have any additional questions, please call the Jackson Generals office at 731-988-5299.”

Travis Janssen earned his 150th win as head coach of the APSU baseball team on Friday, May 14.
Win number 151 may have mattered more, though, in the scope of the Governors’ season.
The Bat Govs, previously ranked fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference, won two out of three games from fourth-place Jacksonville State. A series win places them in the conference’s final playoff spot with one rivalry series remaining.
Heading into the three-game set, Janssen met with team captains Gino Avros and Garrett Spain to see if a message to the team on the weekend’s importance was necessary. According to the coach, they were both well aware of the implications the home finale would have.
