Amtrak, allies stump for passenger rail expansion

CLEVELAND, Ohio Amtrak President Stephen Gardner said Tuesday new passenger rail service linking Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati could begin as soon as “a couple of years,” with support from Congress, the state and local communities.

The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic showed the DORA concept had benefits beyond drawing people to special events, assistant city manager Kyle Kridler told City Council on May 10, when council passed an ordinance expanding the program to 11 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.
