3 existing conditions approved for Ohio medical marijuana - Wilmington News Journal

3 existing conditions approved for Ohio medical marijuana COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) A Medical Board of Ohio panel has added three existing conditions for Ohioans to buy medical marijuana. The panel earlier this year determined that arthritis, chronic migraines and complex regional pain syndrome fall into the existing category of chronic or intractable pain. State residents must obtain a physician recommendation under 22 qualifying conditions and register with the state to become eligible to buy marijuana flower and other products at the state’s 52 dispensaries. The Ohio Board of Pharmacy voted last month to make 73 more dispensary licenses available in a process that is expected to be announced later this year to deal with patient complaints about lack of access and high prices.

Medical marijuana company hopes to establish dispensary in Kent

A medical marijuana company has begun steps to open a dispensary on the west side of Kent and will go before the city s Planning Commission tonight seeking a site plan review and a conditional zoning certificate. Buckeye Relief, is a level I medical marijuana cultivator and processor based in Eastlake. While its products can be found in dispensaries across the state, Caroline Henry, Buckeye Relief s government affairs director, said the company is interesting in opening its own facility at 1181 W. Main St. Henry said the spot is ideal because of its spacious building and ample parking. She said that clientele sometimes have a hard time finding parking around dispensaries and, because many of the people using dispensaries are disabled, more parking is always good.

Green Compassion Network opening in a new North Canton location

NORTH CANTON – The Green Compassion Network will open Monday at its new location   1201 S. Main St. The medical cannabis business is moving from Frank Avenue NW to the building on Main Street, which also houses the Vista Psychological & Counseling Centre. GCN cofounder Julia Appleby, a clinical counselor who also operates Vista with two business partners, said she expects the shared site to be mutually beneficial.   It just seemed to make really good clinical sense to move the cannabis clinic in here, she said.  So many of our patients have sought out medical cannabis. Mental health and physical health, they go hand-in-hand.

Terradiol cultivation site on Harmont Avenue NE is under construction

Terradiol s chief executive officer did not return messages seeking comment.  The Department of Commerce, which oversees cultivation for the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, reconsidered a distance dispute that threatened Terradio s license and granted a time extension in 2019. That gave Terradiol until December 2020 to be ready to grow.  However, that deadline was moved to July 1 by the state legislature as part of the response to COVID-19, according to Department of Commerce spokeswoman Jennifer Jarrell.  Terradiol s extension request, filed in 2018, also included a revised facility plan. The request describes unanticipated challenges, such as structural issues and black mold, discovered during initial renovation work at the 59,000-square-foot building.
