The University of Georgia reported seven COVID-19 cases over the week of May 3-9, a decrease from the 18 cases a week before. Since the start of 2021, the university has reported 1,607 positive cases. Since the start of the pandemic, UGA has reported 6,911 positive cases.
Of the seven cases reported this week, three were from UGAâs surveillance testing program for volunteers without symptoms, none were from the University Health Centerâs testing program primarily for students with symptoms, two were from Athens testing sites and the remaining two were from the âotherâ category, which includes positive tests both inside and outside of Athens. In total, five students and two employees tested positive.

“The good news is, generally speaking, consumers have a positive outlook on the next 12 months with 57% feeling optimistic about the future and only 16% feeling pessimistic, he said.
“Optimism is slightly lower in the short term (next six months) with 44% feeling optimistic and 22% feeling pessimistic but there’s still a very positive view given the challenges we all faced over the past year.

The MBDA-made MMP was fired last month from a retractable pod on the Jaguar EBRC armoured vehicle.
MBDA and Nexter last month carried out the first lock-on firing of a Medium Range Missile (MMP) from a Jaguar EBRC 6x6 armoured reconnaissance and combat vehicle.
The test was conducted on 14 April in conjunction with French defence procurement agency DGA as part of the qualification process for Jaguar.
‘Launched from the retractable pod on the Jaguar’s turret in two-missile configuration, the MMP successfully hit its target,’ MBDA stated on 11 May.
