Packed Houston clubs that violated COVID-19 protocols received a stern warning this weekend in the form of liquor permit suspensions from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. TABC officials discovered several violations of Texas COVID-19 safety measures this past weekend that merited heightened scrutiny and punishment.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has temporarily suspended the liquor licenses of Houston clubs Clé, Spire and Grooves for violating the state s COVID-19 restrictions.
In a press release, the TABC said the suspensions are the result of inspections by their agents conducted over the weekend. All three businesses are accused of violating Gov. Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-32, which requires businesses which sell alcohol for on-premise consumption to comply with capacity limits as well as social distancing and facial covering requirements, the release stated.

BRIDGEPORT A state prosecutor with more than 20 years of experience was appointed Tuesday the new supervisor of the prosecutor’s office in the Golden Hill Street courthouse.
Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Ann Falsey Lawlor was appointed by State’s Attorney Joseph Corradino to replace retiring Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Cornelius P. Kelly at the geographical area or GA court.
“Neil Kelly’s retirement presents me with the loss of both a valued colleague and daily interaction with a friend of nearly 30 years and with an incredibly difficult decision, but I am pleased that I have so many outstanding people from whom to choose,” Corradino said.
