Morehead State University s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance will close out its 2020-21 theatrical season with the production of Ken Ludwig s Moon Over Buffalo.
MSU Theatre will present the show virtually. A recording of the performance is available online from Thursday through Sunday, April 8-11, and Thursday through Sunday, April 15-18. Moon Over Buffalo revolves around a couple of Broadway stars, George Hay (Everett Quiggins, junior music education major of Louisville) and Charlotte Hay (Logan Wilkerson, freshman theatre education major from Orange Park, Florida), taking their rundown touring company to Buffalo, New York, in the summer of 1953. With the legendary Frank Capra heading to town on a talent-scouting mission looking to hire the couple for his swashbuckling “Scarlet Pimpernel” epic. A tree-planting ceremony was held Monday afternoon, April 5, to honor the memory and legacy of Dr. George M. Mac Luckey Jr., MSU professor emeritus and former director and namesake of the academic honors program.
The blue spruce tree was planted in front of Fields Hall, MSU’s residence hall for honor students. The tree was chosen by Luckey s widow, Dr. Sue Luckey. Speakers at the event included Dr. Philip Krummrich, director of the honors program, and Luckey s friends and colleagues. Morehead State University s imaging sciences programs have several qualities that place them among the nation s best.
Best Value Schools (BestValueSchools.org) has named MSU to its list of the Best 25 X-Ray Tech Schools in 2021. MSU was ranked 13th and was the only Kentucky higher education institution to make the list.
Among the programs highlighted are MSU’s Associate of Applied Sciences in Radiologic Science, its Bachelor of Science in Imaging Sciences (BSIS) tracks in diagnostic medical sonography (DMS) and computed tomography/magnetic resonance (CTMR), and its BSIS track in leadership in medical imaging (LMI) offered exclusively online.

Morehead State s Office of Military Initiatives is commemorating Women s History Month with an online program featuring remarks from former Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton on Thursday, March 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. via WebEx.
Hampton will share lessons from her life about leadership in and out of the military and hold a question-and-answer session after her remarks.
Hampton served as Lt. Governor of Kentucky from 2015 to 2019 under Gov. Matt Bevin, and was the first African-American to hold a statewide office. Hampton served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years as a computer systems officer, earning captain s rank. A combat veteran, she served in Saudia Arabia during Operation Desert Storm.
