MSPR Postpones Spring Fundraiser

Credit Morehead State University It’s been one year since Morehead State Public Radio (MSPR) last conducted an on-air fundraiser for WMKY at 90.3FM. As a listener-supported, non-profit, public radio facility, MSPR fundraisers are traditionally held twice a year (spring and fall) to raise funds to support WMKY’s local programming and operations. In the fall of 2020, MSPR opted not to hold its fall fundraiser due to the economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, MSPR asked its listeners, if they were able, to support other non-profits in the community in lieu of giving to MSPR. COVID-19 has changed a lot of things and like so many in eastern Kentucky affected by this pandemic, MSPR has also made adjustments. MSPR’s studios are currently closed to the public, staff are working remotely or in shifts, limited personnel are allowed in the station, and equipment is disinfected before and after each use.
