Coast Guard helicopter crew rescues fallen hiker near Port Orford
A US Coast Guard helicopter crew airlifted a 21-year-old hiker who fell from the cliffs above Nellies Cove near Port Orford on Monday evening.

PORT ORFORD, Ore. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued a 21-year-old hiker who fell from the cliffs above Nellies Cove near Port Orford on Monday evening.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Bend received a request for assistance from Curry County dispatch around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening. According to dispatch, the hiker had fallen and sustained multiple injuries that needed emergency medical attention.
The man was dehydrated and had extreme hypothermia when he was rescued, officials said.

COOS BAY, Ore A United States Coast Guard aircrew rescued a 50-year-old male hiker Saturday after he went missing in the Willamette National Forest near Oakridge, according to Coast Guard officials.
The man was dehydrated and had extreme hypothermia when he was rescued, officials said.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Bend received a request for aerial assistance from the Oregon State Search and Rescue Coordinator on Thursday after ground crews located the man’s parked car and backpack near a trail head.
