Brownwood City Council members approved two recommended appointments to leadership positions during their regularly held Council meeting on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford presented her recommendations for appointing Marshal McIntosh as Deputy City Manager and Roland Soto as Parks and Recreation Director to the Council.
“With the retirements of Tim Airheart and Tommy Bell, there has been a ripple effect in multiple departments,” Crawford explained to Council. “We are fortunate to have qualified individuals who are ready and able to step-up into higher positions.”
Crawford recommended Marshal McIntosh be appointed to the newly created Deputy City Manager position. The Deputy City Manager position is designed to be a project-based position that takes on city-wide initiatives and works with all departments. McIntosh has been on the city team for seven years and most recently served as the Assistant Executive Director of the Brownwood Municipal Dev
Blue Marine selects SERTICA Fleet Management Software for eight vessels
The European way of maintaining and managing a fleet has arrived in Mexico with yet another shipping company in the country investing in SERTICA.
Blue Marine, one of the largest offshore services suppliers in Latin America, signed a contract with Logimatic to implement SERTICA Fleet Management software on eight of their vessels.
The Mexican company, already a client of SERTICA, chose the software for its reliability and consistency. Also, because it reduces operational costs through streamlined and digitalized workflows.
One of its key features, is that the user has access to a database with information about previous maintenance jobs, use of spare parts, planned maintenance projects and much more. The database also allows the user to get information about the ship and its maintenance from previous owners.
Umoren replaces Usoro as Abuja MoU secretary-general

Captain Sunday Umoren has been appointed as the Acting Secretary-General of the Abuja Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control.
According to a statement on the website of the Abuja MoU, Umoren, who is the first Master Mariner to head the body, took over the position on January 4 from Mrs Mfon Usoro whose tenure ended recently.
His appointment was approved by Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation and Vice Chairman of the Port State Control for West and Central Africa, Rotimi Amaechi.
The Director-General, of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr Bashiru Jamoh, further gave his assent for the nomination.
