Centerline Biomedical Inc. of Cleveland announced it has launched the first clinical study of its Intra-Operative Positioning System (IOPS) surgical navigation platform, a key step in gaining entry to international markets.
In a news release, Centerline said the IOPS technology, which has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is being deployed in a controlled launch at Cleveland Clinic and other leading institutions in the United States. The clinical study, called MOTION, will be used to support the company s submission for market clearance in Europe and other international markets, Centerline said in the release. Centerline is a spinout from the Clinic.
