Norway s Melodi Grand Prix 2021 - artists revealed including KEiiNO and Rein Alexander
Tonight Norwegian broadcaster NRK revealed 10 of the 26 artists who will be taking part in this year s Melodi Grand Prix.
The 10 artists include the four artists taking part in this weekend s first of five semi-finals, as well as the six artists who automatically have a spot in February s final compered by 2020 hosts Ingrid Gjessing Linhave, Ronny Brede Aase and Kåre Magnus Bergh.

KEiiNO were the big announcement of the night. They won Melodi Grand Prix in 2019 and then the televote at Eurovision in Tel Aviv finishing 6th overall. They went on to tour Australia and release a huge amount of music including a duet with our very own Electric Fields. Their song Monument will be revealed on 15th January and they will perform (not compete) in the first semi-final this weekend.
In particular, it was reported that it re-entered the TOP20 chart on June 22 last year, with the influence of JYP Entertainment s produce -survival show. The track was used as a contest song for the audition program NiziU, which is the program that gave birth to its sister group, NiziU.

According to Billboard Japan, This is the first time that TWICE s song has reached 100 million streams.
They added, It is the third time in history that a foreign artist has reached 100 million playbacks after Ed Sheeran s Shape of You and BTS s Dynamite.

Valentine’s Day 2021 delivers an unexpected and welcome surprise with the release of “A Romantic’s Guide to King Crimson,” the new 12-track album of reinvented King Crimson material by the husband-and-wife duo Deborah and Pat Mastelotto. The collection, which spans the band’s entire history, revisits classics including “Matte Kudasai,” “Heartbeat,” “Moonchild,” “Elephant Talk,” “Peace,” “Exiles,” and “Sleepless.”
Pat Mastelotto is an American rock drummer and record producer who has worked with King Crimson, Mr. Mister, XTC, The Rembrandts and many others. Pat has served as one of King Crimson’s drummers from 1995 to the present day. This album resulted from Pat’s observations and Deborah’s insights made after she intermittently joined Pat on tour as part of the King Crimson entourage from 2008 onwards.

Who s the Bar? It s Jim Babjak of the Smithereens of Carteret and Scotch Plains, Kurt Reil of the Grip Weeds of Highland Park, and Metuchen music man Danny Adlerman. They ve teamed up for this set of very appealing rock, crafted with care and delivered with conviction. What s “The Winding Circumstance”? We don t know, but we can’t stop humming it.

If passion stirs the artist, then Jon Bon Jovi’s passion for the political is good for the music of Bon Jovi. “2020” took on topical topics like President Trump, gun control and the Black Lives Matter movement in a pointed and passionate way. It never flailed wildly, and it brought home the goods musically with an extra zing. There may be some Bon Jovi fans who would rather the rocker eschew the political stuff, but we feel it only enhances the music.
