WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Six Purdue University researchers have received a total of $208,628 from the Trask Innovation Fund to help their labs commercialize their innovations.
The fund is a development program established to support projects that advance the commercial value of Purdue intellectual property. The fund makes awards twice a year to aid faculty and staff with their patented innovations that are being commercialized through the Purdue Research FoundationOffice of Technology Commercialization.
Purdue University innovators developed a stabilized form of human calcitonin, which is a peptide drug already used for people with osteoporosis. Researchers at Purdue created a prodrug form of the peptide hormone to increase its effectiveness as an osteoporosis treatment.
Trask Innovation Fund accepting applications from researchers, innovators seeking to advance Purdue intellectual property
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University inventors who are prepared to move their innovations to market have until Feb. 19 to apply for funding through the Trask Innovation Fund.
The fund is designed to advance the commercial potential of Purdue intellectual property through short-term research projects.
Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the Purdue Research FoundationOffice of Technology Commercialization based on criteria including significance of the invention, stage of development, commercialization potential, path to commercialization, intellectual property landscape and the applicant’s commitment to commercialization.

A national company specializing in coworking spaces has entered into a partnership with the developers of Fort Wayne s Electric Works project, a Monday news release said.
Carr Workplaces has entered into an agreement with RTM Ventures – the firm that owns the former General Electric campus and is developing the site – for about 32,000 square feet of space in Building 19 of the project s west campus. Carr Workplaces manages about 30 coworking spaces nationwide, the release said.
