Food and Shelter Program Applications Sought By Northern Berkshire United Way The Emergency Food and Shelter Program National Board has awarded Berkshire County $67,202 in Phase 38 (FY20) Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) assistance funding. President Obama is pulling a fast one on the religious community but they are not all buying it, thank God. Obama’s sleight of hand is this: push the costs of contraceptives and abortifacients onto the insurance companies, insurance companies paid for by the religious organizations. Obama kept the mandate but made it indirect.
The problem will always come down to the mandate in the Obamacare bill which requires everyone to pay for contraceptives, abortifacients and full fledged abortions (that’s coming) that go against the core values of many American people. The Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry, hosted at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton, N.Y., had adapted its distribution scheme to match the times. In the days before the coronavirus, the pantry’s offerings were laid out like a small neighborhood grocery; its weekly clients were free to pick out the food items they wanted.

WASHINGTON (CNS) The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, forest fires, hurricanes, wars and other events this year have hit the world’s economies hard, leaving many unemployed and unable to pay for rent and even food.
As Catholic organizations try to address this overwhelming need, their own resources strained, some people have indicated they would like to help those in need.
