Good news for the area’s trail users, the federal government has announced $71,401 injection for upkeep and sprucing up of the popular Rideau Winter Trail.
After a development period, the not-for-profit trail officially opened in 2020.

The trail runs from the Rideau Sports Centre on Donald Street to Hurdman and now offers nine kilometres trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking and walking.
During the summer, summer of the trail is paved pathways used by walkers and cyclists, while other portions are open green spaces used for strolling and picnic and other activities.
