Attorneys for several men on death row in South Carolina are considering suing the state for its new death penalty law, which would require inmates scheduled for execution to choose between firing squad and the electric chair in the absence of lethal injection drugs.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster s signing of the bill into law Friday drew little fanfare. South Carolina is one of the leading states of its size in putting inmates to death, but a lack of injection drugs has slowed executions for a decade.

Death row inmates in South Carolina may now be executed with an electric chair or a firing squad.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster signed this new death penalty bill into law quietly on Friday.
While lethal injection will remain the primary method, this law now forces inmates to choose an alternative of being electrocuted or shot to death.
The state involuntarily paused executions 10 years ago because it didn t have the lethal injection drugs on hand. It s unclear when the state will restart executions.

The Labor Department is reporting very disappointing employment numbers while employers, especially small businesses, are begging for workers. How can this dichotomy exist?
The answer is simple. The Biden Administration is paying people not to work. They have extended federal supplements to state unemployment benefits despite companies experiencing labor shortages. Potential employees are staying home because they have removed the economic benefit from working.
Bowing to the pressure from teachers’ unions the Biden Administration is also refusing to require schools to reopen despite all the evidence that says schools can reopen safely and school children need to be back in the classroom. These closed schools force many working parents to stay home and not return to work.
