ETTRICK – Ja’Neese Jefferson, a recent Virginia State University graduate, will be heading to Richmond this summer as a part of the Governor’s Fellows Program. She will be one of 25 Virginia college students and residents who will take part in the Governor’s program this year.
For the first time in the program s almost 40 year history, fellows will receive a stipend of $3,600 for their work. Governor Ralph Northam employed the payout as a way to lessen obstacles for students in conjunction with the investment he’s made in his previously proposed budgets.
“I aspire to become the Governor of Virginia one day, so to have the honor to learn how state governments works is such an honor,” Jefferson said in a Facebook post.
