The event has over 80 participants from over 15 Indian States
As the tourism sector slowly gets on recovery mode, the Bengaluru edition of India International Travel Mart-2021 began here on Friday.
The travel and tourism exhibition was inaugurated by Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Tourism Department; Kumar Pushkar, Managing Director, Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd.; and Vijay Sharma, Managing Director, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation. According to a release, the two-day event will showcase a variety of destinations from different spheres such as pilgrimages, adventures, culture and heritage, beaches, and hills.

Yet again, capital city Bengaluru gets a lion share of almost Rs 8,000 crore in the annual state budget of Karnataka. Hereâs a list of all that the IT capital has got provisions for.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa presented the state budget today at noon even as the opposition staged a walk out saying the government had âno moral rightsâ to continue to be in power over recent happenings in the state.
Yediyurappa highlighted various provisions dedicated to women as he presented the budget on the occasion of International Womenâs day. That apart, Yediyurappaâs budget has tactfully tried to keep the two largest communities - Lingayats and Vokkaligas - pleased with an equal grant of Rs 500 crore each.
Mysore/Mysuru: Days after Minister for Tourism, Ecology and Environment C.P. Yogeeshwar said that
Heli Tourism would be launched at four tourist destinations including Mysuru, the Minister held important discussions regarding setting up of two permanent helipads at Lalitha Mahal Palace Grounds in Mysuru and on the premises of Bangalore Palace (Palace Grounds). These helipads would be exclusively used for Heli Tourism.
The Minister was on a visit to Mysuru this morning where he held a closed-door meeting with member of erstwhile royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar regarding the two helipads on the lands that are owned by the royal family. Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) Chairperson Shruthi Krishna was also present at the meeting. He sought inputs from Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on his ideas for developing Mysuru into a prominent tourist hub.
