Local News Briefs: Ditch maintenance project will impact traffic flow

The Guernsey County Highway Department will start a countywide drainage ditch maintenance project Monday with traffic maintained by flaggers.
The project is expected to take eight weeks with work performed from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Roadways will be open to local traffic, said Guernsey County Engineer Paul Sherry. And, motorists should expect significant delays as the work zone will be very large.
The first phase of the project will proceed in order along the following roads:
Salt Road, Chestnut Hill Road, Indian Camp Run Road, Twin Sisters Road, Swan Road, Bates Road and Earley Road.

Ranger Lane, Lodge Road closed for culvert work
The Guernsey County Highway Department will close Ranger Lane (Madison Township Road 8773) between Cadiz Road (U.S. 22) and Lodge Road (County Road 78) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, for culvert replacement.
The highway department will also close Lodge Road between Cadiz Road and Ranger Lane from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, for culvert replacement.

Improvement corp, planning commission to meet
There will be a joint meeting of the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and the Guernsey County Planning Commission at 8 a.m., on Friday, at the county Administration Building in the first floor conference room. The administration building is located at 627 Wheeling Ave. Note the change in location for this meeting only.
Public Vet coming to Old Washington
The Public Vet will be in Old Washington on Feb. 27. Kittens 6 weeks or older and any male or female cat under 6 years of age can be spayed or neutered with a pain shot for $80. Wild felines must be in a live trap and are $40. Participants must register at pub.vet. Immunizations and other services are available. Unregistered persons will not be accepted.

Road closed for bridge repair
County Road 4, Colerain Pike, is scheduled to be closed for a bridge repair project beginning on Feb. 8. The road will be closed in both directions for a period of four weeks.
Advance warning signs will be posted. Project is weather dependent.
