Foster Dairy Farms Employee Claims Workplace Fall Led to Termination

Agriculture your username February 22, 2021 Laureano Arregon filed a complaint on Friday in the California Superior Court for Stanislaus County alleging that he was discriminated against and harassed because of an injury he received while working milking cows for Foster Dairy Farms and its facility in Hickman, California. The plaintiff alleged that he was fired because of his physical disability from the injury and his requests for accommodations.  Arregon reportedly worked as a “dedicated dairy worker and cow milker.” In the complaint, he alleged that he “repeatedly” reported workplace hazards like slippery mats but the defendants did not take steps to remedy the situation. One time, after reporting the slippery mats, he was asked to clean them but the plaintiff said this did not fix the hazardous situation. Arregon claimed that he eventually slipped causing harm to himself including a back injury and filed a worker’s compensation claim.

This is the lawsuit in which some independent voters challenge the rules for who can vote in California presidential primaries. California law lets each party decide for itself whether to let independents vote in its presidential primaries. Generally the Democratic, Libertarian, and American Independent Parties allow independents to choose their own party’s primary ballot. She claims she was then “targeted and ostracized” by co-workers. Bob Van Voris | Feb 18, 2021   (Bloomberg) A former employee of Pacific Investment Management Co. claimed she was sexually harassed by men at the firm and demoted after she rejected advances by her boss, the former chairman of Pimco funds, Brent Harris. Harris’s former chief assistant, Amanda Thiem, made the allegations in an updated complaint filed Thursday in state court in Santa Ana, California. She’s one of three women who made harassment claims against Pimco in the filing. They joined a suit filed last year by two women who claimed the money manager operates as a fraternity that favors white men.

More plaintiffs added to PIMCO bias suit Bloomberg Three additional former or current female employees have been added to a lawsuit accusing Pacific Investment Management Co. of not appropriately dealing with employment issues including gender and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and violations of California s Fair Employment and Housing Act and the federal Equal Pay Act. Brent R. Harris, formerly managing director and chairman of PIMCO Funds, was named in the amended suit, because of alleged sexual harassment, stalking and retaliation by his former administrative assistant, Amanda Thiem, who left the firm in 2018. Mr. Harris retired from PIMCO in October 2020.
