San Diego County opens fourth vaccine super station in La Mesa

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â San Diego County on Tuesday opened a fourth vaccine super station in La Mesa, in an effort to ramp up the speed at which COVID-19 vaccines are administered and expand access.
San Diegans who currently qualify under the state s COVID-19 vaccine distribution phases will be able to set up an appointment starting on Feb. 2. The La Mesa site will be a walk-up location at Grossmont Center shopping mall at 5500 Grossmont Center Dr.
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego County’s fourth vaccination super station opened Tuesday at the Grossmont Center shopping mall in La Mesa. The walk-up clinic will be vaccinating people from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Up to 1,000 doses will be administered daily, but the daily capacity of the site operated by Sharp HealthCare is 5,000.
The Grossmont Center location will replace the site Sharp HealthCare that had been operating on Wakarusa Street. Appointments made for that site transfer to the super station at the mall.
San Diego County’s other vaccination super stations are open at Petco Park, the former Sears store in Chula Vista and California State University San Marcos. Many other smaller county clinics are also vaccinating people throughout the region.
North County residents are now able to get COVID-19 vaccines closer to home, as San Diego County opened its third Vaccination Super Station Sunday at Cal State San Marcos Sports Center.
The site will be open to the public weekly from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Initially the site is expected to vaccinate 250 to 1,000 people per day, depending on the number of vaccines available, eventually building up to 5,000 or more vaccines daily.
The site is being hosted at CSUSM, with partnership from Palomar Health, UC San Diego Health and Tri-City Medical Center.

SAN MARCOS (CNS) - North County residents will be able to get COVID-19 vaccines closer to home starting today, as San Diego County opens a Vaccination Super Station at California State University San Marcos Sports Center.
San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher and Supervisor Jim Desmond will open the county s third Vaccination Super Station at CSUSM Sunday, with the first patients with appointments able to get a dose of the vaccine starting at 9:30 a.m.
The site will be open to the public weekly from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Initially the site is expected to vaccinate 250 to 1,000 people per day, depending on the number of vaccines available, eventually building up-to 5,000+ vaccines daily.
SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – A Vaccination Super Station will open in North County on Sunday. The vaccine distribution site will open on the Cal State San Marcos campus, with the capability to vaccinate up to 5,000 individuals a day with appointments.
The new pedestrian site will be vaccinating people, with appointments, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at the Sports Center and Clarke Field House, located at 333 South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos.
Free parking will be available in Parking Structure 1 on levels 2 and 3 and disabled parking in Lot L next to the Sports Center,
The County-run site is a collaboration between the County and CSU San Marcos, with staff support from Palomar Health, UC San Diego Health and Tri-City Medical Center.
