Article content Fort McMurray’s public and Catholic school divisions are moving Grades 7 to 12 online until the end of the month. In a joint status sent Friday evening, the schools made the request to Alberta Education on Thursday as COVID-19 cases rise locally. As of Friday, there are seven schools with outbreaks. Another three schools are on alert status. With a rate of 787 cases per 100,000 people, the municipality is behind the counties of Barrhead, Camrose and Athabasca. There are 657 active cases in the municipality, with 638 in Fort McMurray. This number does not include the commuter workforce. We apologize, but this video has failed to load.
