Ball State University plans to host in-person Commencement ceremonies for all of our Summer 2021 graduates on
Saturday, July 24, in Worthen Arena. Each graduate who registers will receive four complimentary guest tickets (no exceptions can be made for additional tickets). All graduates and attendees will be required to wear masks since these Commencement ceremonies will be taking place indoors.

Ohio University celebrated the Spring Class of 2021 this past weekend, April 30 – May 2. Graduates were welcomed to participate in person at Peden Stadium or virtually.
This weekend was extra special, as it marked the first time a commencement ceremony was ever held in Peden Stadium.
Our Graduate commencement ceremony was held on Friday at 9 a.m. to honor both master’s and doctoral degrees. The speaker for this ceremony was Dr. Susan Williams, a professor of anatomy in OHIO’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine who was named the 2020 Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award winner.

When first approaching course design, Joseph Brown, adjunct instructor of music, was unsure if it was possible to teach a music course in an online format. A large part of his online “History of Rock I” course focuses on auditory learning, which initially proved challenging for him because he had to find ways for students to listen to songs constructively and legally. He was also worried about student engagement. Because his course fulfills a general education requirement, a majority of his students are nursing students who are working full time, and perhaps not particularly interested in music. “It’s always been a challenge for me to find ways to construct content in such a way that’s meaningful to students but also meets them where they are,” he said.
