The Central Board of Secondary Education presented it as one of two possibilities at a meeting of Union and state ministers on May 23 to discuss holding the exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (June 1) will chair a meeting to deliberate on conducting the Class 12 board exams. The CBSE and CISCE boards had deferred the exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The prime minister will be briefed on all possible courses of action in this regard after which a decision could be expected soon that will end the uncertainty over the exams.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair an important meeting regarding Class 12 Board Examinations, this evening. He will be briefed on all possible options, as a result of the extensive discussions with all states and other stakeholders,” ANI said quoting sources.

The Centre will file its decision to the Supreme Court on the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 on June 3. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had said on May 23 that “an informed, collaborative decision” will be made on June 1st. However, he informed that the majority of the states are in favour of conducting board exams.
Supreme Court hearing happened yesterday regarding cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board exam 2021. However, the matter was adjourned to June 3 after the Attorney General appearing for the Centre informed the Court that the Government will decide on Class 12 board exams within two days. “Give us time till Thursday and the Government will come with a final decision,” the Attorney General said.
