FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A $10 scratch-off revealed a $2 million top prize for South Florida’s latest lucky lottery winner.
Genner Hernandez, 44, of Fort Lauderdale, hit it big on a 100X Scratch-Off ticket he bought at the Star K located at 2509 SW 9th Avenue, Florida Lottery officials announced.
He decided to take his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,605,000.
The Star K that sold the winning ticket gets a $4,000 bonus commission.
Florida Lottery says that the game Hernandez won launched in January and features eight top prizes of $2 million.
According to Florida Lottery, scratch-offs make up about 75% of their ticket sales and generated over $1 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in the last full fiscal year.
South Dakota targets Starwood for opportunistic real estate

South Dakota Investment Council, Pierre, committed up to $150 million to Starwood Distressed Opportunity Fund XII, confirmed Tammy Otten, assistant investment officer, in an email.
The commitment to the opportunistic real estate fund managed by
Starwood Capital Group was approved at the council s Nov. 19 meeting.
The council has previously committed to other Starwood funds.
Of the $150 million commitment limit, up to $134.4 million was made on behalf of the $12.3 billion South Dakota Retirement System. Also, up to $6.9 million comes from the $631 million Education Enhancement Trust Fund, up to $3.5 million from the $334 million Dakota Cement Trust Fund, up to $3.7 million from the $328 million School & Public Lands Fund and up to $1.5 million from the $151 million Healthcare Trust Fund.

Raymond Cineus is having a very happy holiday after winning the $5 million top prize on a scratch-off he bought from a local Publix.
Raymond decided on the one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,915,000.
Cineus won on the $5,000,000 Cashword scratcher that he bought for $20 in Sunrise and that market gets a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials say this specific scratch-off game launched in May and has eight of those $5 million top prizes, plus 24 second prizes worth $1 million. Scratch-offs comprise 75% of their ticket sales and generat over $1 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in the 2019-20 fiscal year.
