The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has dismissed as tissues of lies, some online reports indicating that it has postponed its membership registration and revalidation exercise scheduled to begin on Monday.
The Party in a statement Saturday by the Secretary, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe said a notice in circulation ascribing the postponement to him “is fake and highly mischievous”.
“The APC membership registration, revalidation and update exercise remains on course and commences as scheduled in the attached timetable.

All Progressives Congress (APC) will Monday commence nationwide membership registration/revalidation exercise, even as chairman of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, promised severe consequences against those plotting to sabotage the exercise. Inaugurating the membership registration/revalidation committee yesterday at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Buni threatened that the party will deal ruthlessly with anybody or group of persons who attempt to hijack the exercise. Governor Buni said “Let me make it abundantly clear that the party would not condone any act of sabotage of denying anyone or group of persons from registering. The party would deal decisively with anyone or group who attempts hijacking the exercise. Everyone must be allowed and given the chance to register.”

A fresh crisis is brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as former state chairmen of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the legacy parties that coalesced to form the ruling party, have formed a new political association, New Nigeria Movement.
They hinged their decision on the ruling party’s deviation from its foundational plans.
This comes as the Chairman of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling party and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has warned that the party will deal with anyone or group that attempts to hijack the membership/revalidation of the party.
