The subject line of Marc Molinaro’s email was “Moving New York Forward.” In it, the Dutchess County Executive embedded a screenshot of him juxtaposed with Gov. Andrew Cuomo, from a debate they shared while the two vied for governor in 2018. Video clips from the debate have been mixed in frequently on Molinaro’s social media in recent months. Molinaro in the email calls Cuomo “the most corrupt Governor in America.” He writes of “the chance for a bright future” in Albany and issues facing the state “I will continue to fight for.” The message was sent hours after Molinaro was included in a group of five potential gubernatorial candidates who spoke to state GOP leaders in Albany Monday. And, at the bottom of the email was a button with the words “Stand With Me,” linking out to his campaign donation page.
