No police will be charged in the shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man who was left paralysed in an incident which sparked unrest in the US city of Kenosha in August, the prosecutor announced.
Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley said that white police officer Rusten Sheskey had a reasonable claim of fear of being stabbed when he shot Mr Blake several times in the back as Mr Blake tried to get in his car.

The family and supporters of Jacob Blake, who learned Tuesday that the officer who shot him seven times will not face charges, vowed to bring their protest to Washington, D.C.
“Now our battle must go in front of the Congress, it must go in front of the Senate,” his father Jacob Blake Sr. said Tuesday. “We’re gonna protest right into the offices. We’re gonna go see Nancy [Pelosi] first… then we’ll go see the Senate ’til we’re seen, ’til we’re heard.”

LeBron James called a prosecutor’s decision not to file charges against a white police officer who shot a Black man in Wisconsin this summer a “blow to the heart and to the gut.”
Back in Wisconsin, the Marquette men’s basketball team wore black uniforms to protest the decision, and the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks said they plan to continue pushing for policy changes in law enforcement.
Jacob Blake, who is Black, was left paralyzed after being shot in the back on Aug. 23 by Kenosha police officer Rusten Sheskey, who is white.

Kenosha - Wisconsin prosecutors on Tuesday cleared a white police officer of criminal charges in the shooting a Black man from behind in the presence of his young children, leaving him paralyzed and triggering deadly protests that inflamed US racial tensions.
Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley found officer Rusten Sheskey acted in self-defence while responding to a domestic dispute last August 23 and shooting Jacob Blake seven times at close range, saying Blake was armed with a knife and had resisted arrest, withstanding multiple Taser shots.
