A registered sex offender from Weatherford was arrested earlier this week and charged with lewd or indecent acts to a child under the age of 16 after allegedly making sexual advances towards a 15-year-old girl.
According to court records, 58-year-old Jay Clayton Richardson was arrested earlier this week after an investigation led by the Weatherford Police Department showed that Richardson had allegedly touched the girl in inappropriate places and would cuddle with her while they watched TV at his home.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Richardson also allegedly took photos of the girl and her 13-year-old sister.

A California man was arrested in Custer County recently after being found with just under 100 pounds of marijuana.
According to the Weatherford Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near the 81 mile marker early Friday morning. The officer requested a K9 unit to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle while he continued to conduct the traffic stop. Once the free air sniff was conducted the K9 officer indicated that the K9 had alerted to the presence of narcotics. A probable cause search was conducted and revealed approximately 97 pounds of individually vacuum sealed packages of marijuana located in several different plastic totes in the bed of the 2006 Chevy Avalanche Pick-Up.

A Clinton man was arrested after he allegedly threatened and attempted to burn down his parents house.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of December 11 when, according to a probable cause affidavit, 41-year-old Rudolfo Sambrano was arrested at the home that he shared with his parents after he allegedly gotten into an argument with his father, threatened to burn the house down, and proceeded to pour gasoline out in the home’s garage.
When officers arrived Sambrano denied the allegation saying that he had accidentally spilled the gasoline and that he did not intend to set the home on fire. However after speaking with the parents, and investigating where the gasoline was poured – which included along the walls, on a stand up tool box, and on top of a washing machine – Sambrano was arrested.

A Clinton man was arrested and charged recently with, among other things, assault and battery upon a police officer.
According to court documents the incident happened on November 30 after 30-year-old Joshua Allen Cook attempted to elude a Clinton Police Officer in his car while the officer attempted to perform a traffic stop. The report stated that Cook willfully increased his speed when the officer turned on his lights to initiate the traffic stop.
After making the stop, Cook would allegedly threaten to tamper with the police vehicle’s tires and would also threaten to cause serious bodily harm to the arresting officer.
